entitled "Health, " sub-title "State Board of Health, " be, and
the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments,
to read as follows:
8. The State Board of Health of Maryland shall divide the
State outside of Baltimore City into twenty-three sanitary dis-
tricts following county lines, and upon the recommendation of
its Director, and by a majority vote thereof, it shall appoint a
Deputy State Health Officer for each sanitary district.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take-
effect on June 1st, 1931.

CHAPTER 135.
AN ACT to authorize and direct the Board of County Com-
missioners of Washington County to borrow upon the faith
and credit of said county to the amount of $45, 000. 00 and
to issue and sell coupon bonds therefor, the proceeds thereof
to be used for purchasing, acquiring, or condemning a site
and for the constructing, building, equipping and furnishing
of a school building on said site in the Town of Sharpsburg,
and to provide for the payment of interest on said bonds and
of the principal thereof by the levy of taxes.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Board of County Commissioners of Wash-
ington County be and they are hereby authorized and directed
to issue serial coupon bonds on the faith and credit of said
county to the amount of $45, 000. 00, par value, said bonds to*
be issued in denominations of $1, 000. 00 each and to bear in-
terest at a rate not exceeding four and one-half per cent, per
annum, payable semi-annually in each year during which said
bonds shall be outstanding and remain unpaid, to be signed by
the president of the Board of County Commissioners of said
county and countersigned by the clerk thereof, provided that
the coupon's for the interest thereon may be authenticated by
the engraved, lithographed or printed signature of the said'
Board of County Commissioners of Washington County af-
fixed thereto, which said bonds so to be issued shall be ex-
