visions of this section shall be a misdemeanor punishable under
Section 13 of this Act.
SEC. 13. And be it further enacted, That every Act or omis-
sion designated as a misdemeanor in this Act, unless otherwise
provided, shall be punishable before any Justice of the Peace
or the Circuit Court of Anne Arundel County, within which
such offense is committed and shall be brought by warrant or
indictment upon the oath or information of any member of
said Commission or any employee thereof, and the offender
shall, upon conviction, be subject to a fine not exceeding $100
or 30 days in the County Jail, or both, in the discretion of the
Court. Where such act or omission is of a continuing nature
and is persisted in, any violation of the provisions of this Act
or of any rule or regulation formulated thereunder, a convic-
tion for one offense shall not be a bar to a conviction for a con-
tinuation of such offense subsequent to the first or any succeed-
ing convictions.
SEC. 14. And be it further enacted, That all Acts or parts
of Acts inconsistent with the provisions of this Act, especially
as relate to any limitation for taxation purposes now imposed
upon the Mayor, Counsellor and Aldermen of the City of An-
napolis, be and the same are hereby repealed to the extent of
their inconsistencies. Provided that nothing herein contained
shall be taken as restricting any control or jurisdiction which
the State Board of Health of Maryland is empowered to exer-
cise within the Annapolis Metropolitan Sewerage District, or
as restricting any control or jurisdiction which the Anne Arun-
del County Sanitary Commission is empowered to exercise
within that part of the Annapolis Metropolitan Sewerage Dis-
trict outside the limits of Annapolis.
SEC. 15. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage, it being declared an
emergency law and necessary for the immediate preservation
of the public health and safety.
