CHAPTER 102.

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 4 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1927 Edition), title "City of Bal-
timore, " sub-title "Speedy Judgment Act, " said new section
to follow Section 313 of said Article, and to be known as
Section 313A, for the purpose of permitting the plaintiff in
suits under the Speedy Judgment Act to file photostatic copies
of the cause of action, accompanied by an affidavit, in lieu of
filing the original cause of action.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new and additional section be and it is hereby
added to Article 4 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land (1927 Edition), title "City of Baltimore, " sub-title
"Speedy Judgment Act, " to follow immediately after Section
313 and to be designated as Section 313A of said Article, and
to read as follows:

313A. It shall be a sufficient compliance with the provisions
of the last preceding section if the plaintiff shall, in lieu of
filing the original bond, bill of exchange, promissory note, or
other writing or account by which the defendant is so indebted,
file a photostatic copy thereof, accompanied by an affidavit of
the plaintiff, or someone on behalf of the plaintiff, that such
photostatic copy is a true copy of the original cause of action;
provided, that the court or the defendant shall have the right,
before entry of judgment, to demand the production of the
original cause of action.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1931.

CHAPTER 103.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments, Sections
123 to 129, both inclusive, of Article 15 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Kent
County, " sub-title "Chestertown, " sub-head "Water Board, "
providing for the water works of Chestertown to. be con-
trolled and operated by the Mayor and Council of Chester-
town in lieu of the Water Board and submitting this Act
