20                           LAWS OF MARYLAND.                   [CH. 13

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Mayor and Council of Easton be and they are
hereby authorized and empowered to remove for cause, after
due hearing, any member of the commission created by Section 4
of Chapter 227 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Mary-
land of 1927 and to fill vacancies which have or may hereafter
occur in said commission.

SEC. 2. And, be it further enacted, That any member of said
commission may be removed after due hearing by a resolution
duly passed by the Council of Easton and approved by the
Mayor, provided that it appears in said resolution that the Mayor
and Council of Easton is satisfied that the said member of said
Commission has failed or neglected to satisfactorily perform hi&
duties as a member of the Commission aforesaid.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That any vacancy which
has occurred or may hereafter occur in said commission due to
the death, resignation or removal after due hearing of any mem-
ber or members thereof, said vacancy or vacancies shall be filled
by appointment by the Mayor of Easton of some citizen of said
town by and with the consent of the Council as in the case of
the appointment of other municipal officers.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency law and necessary for the imme-
diate preservation of the public safety, and being passed upon
a yea and nay vote, supported by three-fifths of all members
elected to each of the two Houses of the General Assembly of
Maryland, the same shall take effect from the date of its passage..

CHAPTER 13.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 169
of Article 21 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition), title "Talbot County, " sub-title "Easton, "
authorizing the redemption of certain real estate.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 169 of Article 21 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Talbot County, ""
sub-title "Easton, " be and the same is hereby repealed and re-
enacted with amendments so as to read as follows:
