1424 JOINT RESOLUTIONS.
Resolved, That said commission shall submit its report, with
recommendations, to the Governor and General Assembly of
Maryland not later than January 15, 1933, the said report to
contain a draft or drafts of such act or acts as may be proposed
to carry out its recommendations.

NO. 14.
A Joint Resolution requesting the Governor to submit to a
Commission appointed by him in pursuance of a Joint Reso-
lution of the Senate and House of Delegates of the Session
of 1929 the duty to make a thorough study of existing taxes
on motor vehicles used in public transportation of passengers
and freight within this State.
WHEREAS, In pursuance of a Joint Resolution of the Senate
and House of Delegates of the Session of 1929, the Governor
of this State appointed a Commission to confer with commis-
sions already appointed in the State of Virginia and District
of Columbia for the purpose of recommending such uniform
legislation and to report its recommendations to the General
Assembly of 1931; and
WHEREAS, The Commission has been continued by a Joint
Resolution of the Senate and House of Delegates of the Session
of 1931 to report to the General Assembly of 1933; and
WHEREAS, In the opinion of the General Assembly of Mary-
land it is desirable to have a thorough study made of existing
taxes on motor vehicles used in public transportation of pas-
sengers and freight within this State, in comparison with taxes
on corporations and individuals engaged in carrying passen-
gers and freight by other means of transportation, for the pur-
pose of advising such changes in the existing laws as to make
such taxes equitable and fair; therefore, be it

Governor be and he is hereby requested to direct the Commis-
sion hereinbefore referred to, to make a thorough study of
existing taxes on motor vehicles used in public transportation
