space is required by law or any official regulation to be kept
open. In case of garages having more than one floor, a similar
deduction shall be made for each floor. There shall be a deduc-
tion from the total space contained in open air garages in com-
puting the tax on open air garages, which may be occupied
over their entire area, provided that nothing in this Act shall
be construed to repeal any local ordinance enacted for the pub-
lic safety.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1931.

CHAPTER 536.
AN ACT to authorize and direct the Register of Wills for
Anne Arundel County and Prince George's County to apply
the excess fees of their offices during a period beginning on
September 30, 1930, and ending at such time when the neces-
sary funds have accumulated to the payment of the money
to be expended as provided in this Act for the repairing and
rebinding of the Will Records and Dockets on file in said
Registers' offices.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Register of Wills for Anne Arundel and
Prince George's Counties be and they are hereby authorized
to have repaired and rebound the Will Records and Dockets
on file in their offices, so far as the same may be necessary.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the said Registers
be and they are hereby authorized to let on contract the execu-
tion of the work of repairing and rebinding said Records and
Dockets as aforesaid, subject to the approval of the resident
judges of the circuit courts for Anne Arundel and Prince
George's Counties.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That the cost of said
repairing and rebinding be paid by the Register of Wills for
Anne Arundel and Prince George's Counties out of the excess
