the conduct thereof, are engaged therein as an occupation, pur-
suit or business, provided, however, that it shall be unlawful
for any person or persons, who engage therein as an occupa-
tion, pursuit or business, to officiate at or assist in the conduct
of the playing of games of baseball as an umpire, manager,
ground keeper, gate keeper, ticket seller, guard or attendant,
within the corporate limits of the City of Hagerstown, on the
first day of the week, commonly called Sunday, except when
such games are played between the hours of two P. M. and
five P. M. and are not played within one hundred (100) yards
of any existing permanent church edifice where religious serv-
ices are being held.
483C. Any person violating any of the provisions of Sec-
tions 483A and 483B shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor
and for each and every offense shall be subject to a fine of not
more than one hundred dollars, ($100. 00).
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted. That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1931.

CHAPTER 532.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections
294, 295 and 295A of Article 4 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Baltimore City, "
sub-title "Coroners, Inquests, and Dead Bodies, " increasing
the salaries of the coroners.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Sections 294, 295 and 295A of Article 4 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Baltimore City, " sub-title "Coroners, Inquests and Dead
Bodies, " be and they are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:
294. The Governor, by and with the advice and consent of
the Senate, shall appoint and commission eight competent
physicians to act as coroners for the City of Baltimore, to hold
office during the period of two years, at an annual salary of
one thousand five hundred dollars each, payable quarterly by
the City Register; said coroners shall be assigned to duty by
the Governor, and to each of the police districts of the City
