Fire Companies.

74A. The County Commissioners of Talbot County are here-
by authorized, in their discretion, to pay annually such sum or
sums of money as they may see fit, to any of the organized
volunteer fire companies located in Talbot County, to be used
for the purchase, improvement, maintenance and operation of
fire apparatus, fire equipment and ambulances of the said re-
spective volunteer fire companies.

74B. The County Commissioners of Talbot County are here-
by authorized, in their discretion, to annually levy upon all
property liable to taxation in Talbot County, at the regular
tax levying period, an amount sufficient to meet and to pay the
aforesaid sum or sums of money annually as and when the same
shall become due and payable.

74C. Should any one of the said volunteer fire companies
officially notify the said County Commissioners of Talbot
County, at or before the regular tax levying period in any year,
that it, the said volunteer fire company, does not wish to re-
ceive such sum or sums of money, during said year, then the
said County Commissioners of Talbot County shall not include
such sum or sums in the amount levied, and shall not pay such
sum or sums to the said volunteer fire company.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency law and necessary for the imme-
diate preservation of the public health and safety, and being
passed upon a yea and nay vote, supported by three-fifths of
all the members elected to each of the two Houses of the General
Assembly, the same shall take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 503.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 62 of
Article 11 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1924 Edi-
tion), title "Banks and Trust Companies, " sub-title "General
Regulations, " relating to the reserves to be kept by banks
and trust companies.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 62 of Article 11 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1924 Edition), title "Banks and Trust Companies, "
sub-title "General Regulations, " be and it is hereby repealed
and re-enacted with amendments to read as follows:
