tration the President and Commissioners of Princess Anne shall
appoint from among* the qualified voters in said town of Princess
Anne, one registration officer who shall also serve as judge of
election for said year and shall provide a registration book so
arranged that the names of the registered voters in said town
may be entered alphabetically and space provided for the entry
opposite each name of the place of residence, age, color and date
of registration of each voter, and there shall also be provided
in said registration book vertical columns in which the judge
of election may enter after the name of each registered voter the
letter "V" as each voter easts his ballot at any election provided
by this Act; said registration officer so appointed shall, before
he undertakes to serve, make oath in due form before the Clerk
of the Circuit Court for Somerset County, that he will faithfully
discharge the duties of registration officer and judge of election
for the election of a town commissioner for said town of Princess
Anne, and said registration officer and judge of election shall
be entitled to receive the sum of five dollars for each day he
may be required to serve as said registration officer and said
judge of election, to be paid by the President and Commissioners
of Princess Anne.

On Monday, four weeks preceding the first Monday in June,
nineteen hundred and thirty-two, and on Tuesday following said
first named Monday, the said registration officer shall sit at a
place in said town designated by said commissioners for the
purpose of registering all persons having the qualifications pre-
scribed by Section 301 of this Article, for voting at said town
election, the said registration officer shall sit from eight A. M.
until six P. M. on each of said days and shall enter in said regis-
tration book the name, age, color and place of residence and date
of registration of all persons who possess the qualifications pre-
scribed for voting at elections for town commissioner, set forth
in Section 301 of this Article, and for the purpose of determin-
ing the right of any such applicant to register, the said regis-
tration officer shall have the right to examine such applicant or
any other witness under oath, and for the purpose of such exami-
nation may administer to such applicant or witness the follow-
ing oath:

"In the presence of Almighty God, you do solemnly promise
or declare (or you do solemnly and truly declare and affirm)
that you will fully and truly answer all such questions as shall
be put to you, touching the place of residence, name, place of
birth, qualifications as a voter and right of any applicant to
register and vote under the laws of this State, at the election
of a town commissioner for Princess Anne. "

Before the close of said registration on said Tuesday the said
registration officer shall list for erasure the name of any person
whom he may have reason to suspect as not being entitled to
