55A. Any person, firm, association or corporation which sell
hogsheads of tobacco directly for the growers, shall first give a
bond to the State of Maryland for a penalty in the amount of
twenty-five thousand dollars ($25, 000), the said bonds to be de-
posited with the State Comptroller, to protect said growers from
any loss or losses sustained from failure by any of said persons,
firms, associations or corporations. Any person, firm, associa-
tion or corporation violating the provisions of this section shall
be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be
punished by a fine of not more than five hundred dollars
($500).
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1931.

CHAPTER 440.
AN ACT to add one new section to Article 1 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Alle-
gany County, " sub-title "Circuit Court, " to be known as
Section 79A, authorizing the court for Allegany County to
employ a full-time bailiff for said county.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That one new section be and the same is hereby
added to Article 1 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land (1930 Edition), title'"Allegany County, " sub-title "Cir-
cuit Court, " to be known as Section 79A and to read as follows:
7 9A. The judges of the Circuit Court for Allegany County
are authorized and empowered to employ one full-time bailiff
for said court, the compensation for whom shall be fixed and
paid by the County Commissioners of Allegany County out
of the fund which are or may be provided for the expenses of
conducting the Circuit Court of Allegany County, Maryland...
