third parties when a memorandum of the paper writing signed
by the vendee or vendees, setting forth the date thereof, the
amount due thereon, when and how payable and a brief descrip-
tion of the goods and chattels therein mentioned shall have
been recorded with the Clerk aforesaid, but it shall not be
necessary that said paper writing shall be acknowledged or an
affidavit made *to the consideration therein expressed as in the
case of bills of sale.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect on and after June 1, 1931.

CHAPTER 403.

AN ACT to add ten new sections to Article 1A of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1929 Supplement), title "Aero-
nautics, " to be under sub-title aAir-Carriers' Liability and
Recording of Sales and Mortgages, " said new sections to be
known as Sections 38 to 47, inclusive, and to follow imme-
diately after Section 37 of said Article, to provide for the
establishment and development of American air-transport
services engaged in interstate and foreign commerce, and
particularly to encourage the incorporation, operation and
development in the State of Maryland of air transportation
companies, and to regulate sales and mortgages of aircraft.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That ten (10) new sections be and the same are
hereby added to Article 1A of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1929 Supplement), to be known as Sections 38 to 47,.
inclusive, to be under sub-title "Air-Carriers' Liability and
Recording of Sales and Mortgages, " to follow immediately
after Section 37 of said Article and to read as follows:

38. If any shipper of platina, gold, gold dust, silver,,
bullion, or other precious metals, coins, jewelry, bills of any
bank or public body, diamonds, or other precious stones, or any
gold or silver in a manufactured or unmanufactured state,
watches, clocks, or timepieces of any description, trinkets,
orders, notes, or securities for payment of money, stamps, maps,,
