Agriculture upon the payment of two dollars ($2. 00). All
moneys so collected shall be used to meet the expenses of
the University of Maryland College of Agriculture in the
enforcement of this Act. Each licensed weigher and sam-
pler shall post his or her license in plain view in the
plant in which he or she is employed. The University of
Maryland College of Agriculture may revoke said license
for failure to post it as above mentioned or for any other
just cause. All scales shall be tested and checked regu-
larly for accuracy and to determine whether they are in
proper working order. For this purpose the University
of Maryland College of Agriculture may use so much of
the fees received under the provisions of this sub-title to
purchase testing equipment and to pay the compensation
and expenses of such inspections as may be necessary to
enforce the provisions of this sub-title.

400. Any person, association, copartnership, corpora-
tion, or agents or servants thereof engaged in the busi-
ness of buying milk or cream on the basis of or in any
way with reference to the amount or percentage of but-
terfat contained therein as determined by the "Babcock
Test" may use a fresh or a composite sample. Any per-
son taking such sample or samples of milk or cream, either
from the aliquot part of each lot of milk sampled or from
the composite lot of milk or cream sampled, shall thor-
oughly stir and mix each and every container immediately
before such sample or samples are taken in such manner
that the milk and cream are thoroughly mixed in each con-
tainer before the sample is taken. No weigh tank or
container from which the alliquot part is taken for com-
posite samples or fresh samples shall have any partition,
division or strainer which may divide in any way, either
vertically or horizontally, into more than one section or
compartment, the volume of milk from which the sample
is taken. Each sample shall be held in an air-tight bot-
tle, such bottle being plainly labeled showing the name or
number of the person whose milk or cream the sample
represents.

When fresh samples are used a representative sample
shall be taken from at least three daily deliveries per
month of the several lots of milk or cream delivered by
each person, such samples shall be taken at scattered pe-
riods. throughout the month, and the specific days for
sampling shall be left to the discretion of the sampler.
Said fresh samples shall be tested within a period of twen-
ty-four hours and their residues shall be held intact, prop-
