CHAPTER 389.
AN ACT to add a new section to Article 17 of the Code of
Public Local Laws 6f Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Prince George's County, " said new section to be known
as Section 238A to be under sub-title "Coal, " and to fol-
low immediately after Section 238 of said Article, and to
add a new section to Article 16 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Mont-
gomery County, " said new section to be known as Section
187A to be under sub-title "Coal" and to follow imme-
diately after Section 187 of said Article, regulating the
sale of coal and coke in said counties.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That a new section be and it is hereby added to
Article 17 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition), title "Prince George's County, " said new
section to be known as Section 238A to be under sub-title
"Coal, " and to follow immediately after Section 238 of said
Article to read as follows:
238A. For the purpose of this Act the term "persons"
shall be construed to include individuals, corporations, part-
nerships, and associations and, his, hers, or its agents offi-
cers, servants and employees delivering, selling, or offering
for sale coal and coke.
It shall be unlawful for any person to deliver, sell or
offer for sale any load of coal or coke in Prince George's
County without a ticket or card which shall indicate on its
face in plain characters the vendor's name, the date, and
the weight of such coal or coke, the kind of coal or coke, the
name of the purchaser, vendee or consignee. Such coal or
coke shall be weighed before delivery and the ticket or card
indicating such weight shall be signed by a weigher in
Prince George's County whose name and address shall be
indicated on said ticket or card. Except any vendor of coal
or coke whose place of business is in the District of Colum-
bia or Montgomery County, and who delivers coal or
coke in Prince George's County may have the same
weighed in either the District of Columbia or Montgomery
County or in said Prince George's County.
The violation of any of the provisions of this Act is
hereby declared a misdemeanor to be punishable upon con-
viction by fine not less than ($5. ) or more than ($25. )
or imprisonment in jail for not less than five days or more
than thirty days or both fine and imprisonment in discre-
tion of the court.
