CHAPTER 377.
AN ACT to add nine new sections to Article 43 of the Code
of Public General Laws of Maryland, entitled "Health, "
the said new sections to follow immediately after Section
282 of said Article, to be placed under a new sub-title
reading, "Paper-Hangers, " to be known as Sections 282A
to 282-1, inclusive, to provide for the examination and
licensing of all persons engaging in the business of
paper-hanging in Baltimore City, and to impose penalties
for the violation of the terms of said Act.
WHEREAS, It is deemed necessary, in order to protect and
promote the public health, safety and general welfare, that
the business of paper-hanging in Baltimore City be regu-
lated by law; therefore
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, that nine new sections be, and the same are
hereby added to Article 43 of the Code of Public General
Laws, entitled "Health, " the said new sections to follow
immediately after Section 282, to be placed under a new
sub-title, reading "Paper-Hangers, " to be known as Sec-
tions 282A to 282-1, inclusive, and to read as follows:
282A. The Governor shall, on or before the first day of
July, 1935, appoint a Board which shall be known as the
Board of Examiners and Supervisors of Paper-Hangers of
Baltimore City, consisting of five persons, for the purpose
of issuing licenses and examining into the qualifications
and capabilities of all persons engaging in, or desiring to
engage in the business of paper-hanging in Baltimore City.
The Board so appointed shall consist of competent, practi-
cal paper-hangers of Baltimore City, and shall serve until
the first Monday in May, 1939 and thereafter, all appoint-
ments shall be for terms of four years. Should any vacancy
occur from any cause during the term of any member of
the Board as herein provided, the Governor shall appoint
someone to fill such vacancy and no more than
