SEC. 9. And be it further enacted, That this Act is
hereby declared to be an emergency law and necessary for
the immediate preservation of the public health and safety,
and being passed upon a yea and nay vote supported by
three-fifths of all the members elected to each of the two
Houses of the General Assembly, the same shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 346.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section
196 of Article 10 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Dorchester County, " sub-
title "County Commissioners and Treasurer, " changing
the time for the qualification of the County Treasurer.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 196 of Article 10 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Dor-
chester County, " sub-title "County Commissioners and
Treasurer, " be and the same is hereby repealed and re-en-
acted, with amendments, to read as follows:
196. An election for county treasurer shall be held at
the general election in November, 1938, and every four
years thereafter, and any county treasurer elected in Dor-
chester County after the passage of this Act shall qualify
on the first day of May after his election, and hold office
until his successor is duly elected and qualified.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1935.
