chased by such purchaser for sacramental purposes and
shall be sworn to by such purchasers before a notary public
or other officer empowered to administer oaths; and said
Comptroller, upon the presentation of such statement and
such vouchers, shall cause to be repaid to such purchasers
from the taxes collected on wines the said taxes so paid on
wines purchased for sacramental purposes as aforesaid;
provided, that applications for refunds as provided herein
must be filed with the Comptroller within ninety (90) days
from the date of purchase or invoice.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1935.

CHAPTER 323.

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 56 of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1924 Edition), title "Licenses, "
sub-title "Motor Vehicles, " said new section to be 'known
as Section 193A and to follow immediately after Section
193 of said Article, and to require the use of shatter-
proof glass in motor vehicles.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That a new section be and it is hereby added
to Article 56 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1924
Edition), title "Licenses, " sub-title "Motor Vehicles, " said
new section to be known as Section 193A and to follow im-
mediately after Section 193 of said Article, and to read
as follows:

"193A. (1) It shall be unlawful after July
first, nineteen hundred thirty-five, to operate on any
public highway or street in this State a motor vehicle
manufactured or assembled after said date, designed
or used for the purpose of carrying passengers for
hire, unless such vehicle be equipped with shatter-
proof glass wherever glass is used in said motor ve-
hicle in windshields, rear windows, and windows or
doors on each side adjacent to windshields and rear
windows.

" (2) It shall be unlawful after July first, nine-
teen hundred thirty-five, knowingly, to operate on
any public highway or street in this State any motor
vehicle manufactured or assembled after said date
and registered in this State, unless such vehicle be
equipped with shatter-proof glass wherever glass is
used in said motor vehicle in windshields, rear win-
