232G. The Commissioner of State Employment and
Registration is hereby empowered by co-operative arrange-
ment with heads of other departments of the State govern-
ment to use on a part time basis inspectors, investigators,
or field workers of such departments and/or to employ in
accordance with Article 64A of the Annotated Code of
Maryland an inspector or inspectors to carry out the pro-
visions of Sections 232 to 232-1. The compensation of such
part time inspectors, investigators, or field workers shall
be determined by co-operative arrangement with the de-
partment head concerned, provided the total compensation
of any such part time inspector shall not be greater than
that allowed in the budget of the department in which such
part time employee is regularly employed; and the com-
pensation of any full time inspector shall be that provided
f or the Department of State Employment and Registration
in the biennial budget Act. All salaries and other legiti-
mate expenses shall be paid by the State Comptroller on
proper requisition signed by the said Commissioner out of
the license taxes provided by Section 232 and shall be paid
only from such license taxes. The said Commissioner is
hereby authorized and empowered to investigate, through
the inspectors appointed by him pursuant to the provisions
of this section, the manner in which all employment agents
doing business within the State conduct such business, and
to examine at any time during business hours any and all
of the books and records of such employment agents, to the
end that all such employment agents shall comply with the
provisions of Sections 232 to 232-1, inclusive, and with the
rules and regulations made and published by the said
Commissioner.

232H. The violation of any of the provisions of Sections
232 to 232-1, inclusive, or of any rule or regulation issued
and published by the Commissioner of State Employment
and Registration, shall be a misdemeanor punishable by a
fine of not less than $25. 00 for the first offense and not less
than $100. 00 for each subsequent offense. It shall be the
duty of said Commissioner to institute proceedings through
the State's Attorney of Baltimore City and the State's At-
torneys of the respective counties for the prosecution of
any employment agent violating any of the provisions of
Sections 232 to 232-1, inclusive, or of any regulations made
and published by him pursuant to the provisions of Section
232C.

232-1. The provisions of Sections 232 to 232-1, inclusive,
are severable, and, in the event that any provision thereof
