elected by the voters of the entire town for a term of four
years and the first election for Mayor shall be held at the
same time as the Commissioners for the first, fourth and
fifth wards are elected. The Mayor shall receive an annual
salary of five hundred ($500. 00) dollars as compensation in
full for all services rendered and shall not be paid any addi-
tional fees or compensation for attending meetings of the
Commissioners. In addition to the powers, hereinafter vest-
ed in him, said Mayor shall have the power to veto any ordi-
nance passed by the Commissioners of said city. Every
ordinance passed by said Commissioners, before it becomes
valid, shall be presented to said Mayor; if he approve it,
he shall sign it, but if not he shall return it with his ob-
jections to said Commissioners; if, after reconsideration
thereof, four-fifths of said Commissioners vote affirmatively
for said ordinance, it shall become valid. If any ordinance
shall not be so returned by the Mayor within six days after
it shall have been presented to him, the same shall become
valid.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That all Acts, or
parts of Acts, inconsistent with this Act, be and the same
are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1935.

CHAPTER 257.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Sections
184B of Article 56 of the Annotated Code of Maryland,
title "Licenses, " sub-title "Motor Vehicles, " sub-heading
"Fees for Registration of Motor Vehicles, " as said sec-
tion was enacted by Chapter 540 of the Acts of 1933,
authorizing and directing the Commissioner of Motor
Vehicles to refuse any marker, certificate of registration
or title for any motor vehicle owned in the town of Oak-
land, unless taxes in arrears thereon have been paid.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 184B of Article 56 of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland, title "Licenses, " sub-title "Motor
