redeeming their said share or shares of stock shall cease to
be stockholders, and shall not be entitled to vote at any
meeting of such corporations held for the purpose of
electing directors or for any other purpose, and shall not be
eligible for any of the offices of the corporations.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1935.

CHAPTER 234.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
421D of Article 13 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Harford County, " sub-
title "Liquor and Intoxicating Drinks, " decreasing the
residence requirements in Harford County for securing
license to sell alcoholic beverages.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 421D of Article 13 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Har-
ford County, " sub-title "Liquor and Intoxicating Drinks, "
be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, to read as follows:

421D. Any person, firm, corporation or association de-
siring a license for the sale of beverages under this Section
shall file with the County Commissioners of Harford
County and/or the Mayor and City Council of Havre de
Grace, as the case may be, an application therefor in such
form as may be prescribed. The application shall designate
the kind of license desired before the license is issued, the
County Commissioners of Harford County and/or the
Mayor and City Council of Havre de Grace shall satisfy
themselves of the moral character and financial responsi-
bility of the applicant, appropriateness of the location
where such licensed business is to be conducted, taking into
consideration the number of such licenses already issued,
and generally as to the applicant's fitness for the trust to
be reposed. Before any license is issued under this section
the County Commissioners and/or the Mayor and City
Council of Havre de Grace shall determine the whole num-
ber of licenses to be issued within the County, City or Dis-
