SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1935.

CHAPTER 229.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
233 of Article 14 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Howard County, " sub-
title "Police, " authorizing an increase in the compensa-
tion of the police officers of Howard County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 233 of Article 14 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "How-
ard County, " sub-title "Police, " be and it is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
233. The County Commissioners of said County shall
have power to levy annually a sum sufficient to pay said per-
son or persons that may be appointed as hereinbefore pro-
vided, and all proper expenses, provided that no person ap-
pointed shall be paid over One Hundred Dollars per month
in the discretion of the County Commissioners.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1935.

CHAPTER 230.
AN ACT to repeal Sections 122—193, inclusive, of Article
14 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930
Edition), title "Howard County, " sub-title "Ellicott
City, " repealing the Charter of the town of Ellicott City.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Sections 122—193, inclusive, of Article 14
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edi-
tion), title "Howard County, " sub-title "Ellicott City, " be
and they are hereby repealed.
