452 LAWS OF MARYLAND. [CH. 211

CHAPTER 211.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section
196 of Article 43 of the Code of Public General Laws of
Maryland, title "Health, " sub-title "Adulteration of Food
and Drink, " to authorize the State Board of Health to
adopt the rules and regulations lawfully adopted from
time to time by the Secretary of the United States De-
partment of Agriculture, so far as such rules and regu-
lations may be applicable to the duties of said Board un-
der and to the purposes of Sections 189 to 200 of said
Article.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 196 of Article 43 of the Code of
Public General Laws of Maryland, title "Health, " sub-title
"Adulteration of Food and Drink, " be and the same is
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, so as
to read as follows:

196. The State Board of Health shall enforce the pro-
visions of Sections 189 to 200, and shall have the power to
adopt from time to time, promulgate and publish by cir-
cular or otherwise, such general rules and regulations for
the enforcement thereof and for the government of the
analysts, chemists, inspectors and employees appointed by
the said Board as it may deem proper; and said Board
may adopt the rules and regulations lawfully adopted from
time to time by the Secretary of the United States
Department of Agriculture, so far as such rules
and regulation may be applicable to the duties of said
Board under and to the purposes of Sections 189 to 200.
The State Board of Health shall have copies of Sections
189 to 200 printed and shall issue them as far as possible
to persons, firms or corporations manufacturing or sell-
ing, at wholesale or retail, articles of food or drugs, and
shall furnish the same to all persons, firms or corporations
requesting them. The State Board of Health shall also
enforce the provisions of Sections 288 to 291, inclusive, of
Article 27 of the Annotated Code of Public General Laws,
title "Crimes and Punishments, " sub-title "Health, " and
Sections 456 and 457 of said Article 27, sub-title "Poison, "
and Sections 228, 229, 236 and 237 of Article 43, title
"Health, " sub-title "Commissioners of Pharmacy. "

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect on June 1, 1935.
