CHAPTER 204.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Chapter
451 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland
of 1933, codified as Section 538 of Article 17 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), en-
titled "Prince George's County, " sub-title "Hyattsville, "
sub-headed "Street Improvements, " relating to the con-
struction of road beds, sidewalks, curbs, gutters and
street improvements in Hyattsville.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Chapter 451 of the Acts of the General
Assembly of Maryland of 1933, codified as Section 538 of
Article 17 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition), entitled "Prince George's County, " sub-
title "Hyattsville, " sub-heading "Street Improvements, " be
and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments

to read as follows:

538. That the Mayor and Common Council of Hyatts-
ville, a municipal corporation, be and it is hereby empow-
ered and authorized to construct roadbeds, sidewalks, curbs,
gutters and street improvements, or any or all, in the Town
of Hyattsville, Maryland, in such cases as it may determine
the same to be necessary for the public benefit, and for the
benefit of the abutting land and of the owners of the said
abutting land, provided that before any permanent street,
sidewalk and/or curb improvement shall be made under the
provisions of this section, the Mayor and Common Council
shall obtain from more than fifty per cent, of the property
owners of record abutting upon said street, sidewalk and/or
curb their written approval of said permanent improve-
ment and/or improvements.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1935.
