be known as Section 56A and to follow immediately after
Section 56 of said Article, authorizing the Commissioners
of said town to provide discounts for payment of taxes.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That a new section be and it is hereby added to
Article 15 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition), title "Kent County, " sub-title "Betterton, "
said new section to be known as Section 56A, to follow im-
mediately after Section 56 of said Article, and to read as
follows:

56A. The said Commissioners shall have the power to
provide by ordinance for the granting of discounts not to
exceed 5% for the payment of current taxes before Au-
gust 31st, each year.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1935.

CHAPTER 124.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
25 of Article 11 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Frederick County, " sub-
title "Auditing Committees, " changing certain dates as
to the commencement of their examination.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 25 of Article 11 of the Code of
Public Local Laws* of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Frederick County, " sub-title "Auditing Committees, " be
and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments,
to read as follows:

25. It shall be the duty of said committee, on the
fourth Monday in February next ensuing their ap-
pointment, to proceed to carefully examine the ac-
counts, vouchers, receipts, and other papers connected with
the receipt and disbursements of the public money by each
of the aforesaid boards and officers, except that the ac-
counts of the Board of County School Commissioners and
treasurer thereof shall not be audited before March
first of each year, in such manner as to show the true
