1308 VETOES.

VETOES

BILLS PASSED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF 1935 AND
VETOED BY GOVERNOR NICE AND HIS
REASONS IN EACH CASE FOR THE SAME.

THE TOTAL NUMBER OF BILLS VETOED IS 74.

(All of these bills were vetoed by the Governor after the
adjournment of the Legislature, either having been
presented to him after the adjournment of the Legis-
lature or not in sufficient time to require executive
action before adjournment. )

ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES

Chapter 180, House Bill 544, amends the law relating to
the appointment, compensation, powers, duties, etc., of the
Board of Liquor License Commissioners for Anne Arundel
County.

Chapter 222, Senate Bill 432, prohibits the consumption
of beer on the premises of certain licensees in Worcester
County between certain hours.

Chapter 313, House Bill 339, revises the entire law relat-
ing to the licensing, manufacture and sale of alcoholic bev-
erages in Allegany County.

Chapter 369, House Bill 119, abolishes the Liquor Con-
trol Board for Montgomery County and transfers its powers
and duties to the Board of County Commissioners.

There seems to be no reason for changing the laws as to
the sale of alcoholic beverages in the above mentioned
Counties and, in addition thereto, I have received numer-
ous protests against the bills and have, therefore, vetoed
them.

ANNAPOLIS.

The Legislature passed several bills amending the
Charter of Annapolis and three of these made important
changes in the fundamental laws of the City, these being
as follows:
