the same, a label, printed or plainly written, containing the
name of the article, the word "Poison, " and the name and
place of business of the seller and the date of sale; nor
shall it be lawful for any person to deliver any of said
poisons until he has satisfied himself that the person to
whom the same is delivered is aware of and understands
the poisonous nature of the article and that such poison is
to be used for a legitimate purpose.

241 (c). Every person who disposes of or sells at retail
or furnishes any of the poisons in this sub-title specifically
enumerated, or any other poisons which the Maryland
Board of Pharmacy may from time to time designate, as
provided in Section 241(d) of this sub-title, shall, before
delivering the same, enter in a book kept for that purpose
(to be known as the "Poison Register"), the date of sale,
the name and address of purchaser, the name and quantity
of the poison, the purpose for which it is purchased and
the name of the dispenser, and such record shall be signed
by the person to whom the poison is delivered. Such record
shall be kept in the form prescribed by the Maryland Board
of Pharmacy and the book containing the same must be
always open for inspection by the proper authorities and
must be preserved for at least two (2) years after the last
entry.

It shall be unlawful for any person to give or sign a
fictitious name or, in order to procure any poison, to make
any false representation to the person from whom the
same is procured; and it shall be unlawful for any person
delivering any poison under the provisions of this sub-title
knowingly to make a fictitious, false or misleading entry
in the Poison Register.

The provisions of this Section shall not apply to the dis-
pensing of poisons, not in unusual quantities or doses, upon
the prescription of practitioners of medicine, dentistry or
veterinary medicine.

There shall be posted in a conspicuous place in every
store where poisons are sold at retail a sign not less than
nine inches in height and twelves inches in width, reading
as follows: •

"Under the laws of this State, all purchasers of

poisons must sign the record of purchase. "

241 (d). Whenever, in the judgment of the Maryland
Board of Pharmacy, it shall become necessary for the pro-
tection of the public, to bring any poison, not specifically
enumerated in this sub-title, under the provisions of Sec-
tion 241 (e), the said Board shall have printed a revised
