TRANSACTIONS—PENALTIES. No member of the
Liquor Control Board of Wicomico County shall have any
financial interest, directly or indirectly, in the manufacture
of any alcoholic beverage, or in any alcoholic beverage pur-
chased or sold under the provisions of this Act, or derive
any profit or remuneration from the purchase or sale of
any such beverage, other than the salary or wages payable.
for the discharge of the duties of the office or position, as
herein prescribed or authorized.

Any member of the Board, or any employee of said Board,
violating the provisions of this Section shall, upon convic-
tion, be subject to a fine not exceeding Two Thousand Dol-
lars ($2, 000. 00) or to imprisonment not exceeding three
years, or both fine and imprisonment, in the discretion of
the Court.

48D. LIQUOR CONTROL BOARD—POWERS AND
DUTIES; COUNTY DISPENSARIES. In Worcester
County, there shall be a Liquor Control Board
consisting of 3 members to be appointed by the
Governor with the advice and consent of the Senate,
for a term of 10 years, but the members first appointed shall
serve until June 1, 1945. The Board shall organize by elect-
ing its own Chairman. In case of a vacancy, the vacancy
shall be filled by the Governor for the unexpired term. The
members of said Board shall receive as compensation
$600. 00 per annum with mileage fee of 5 cents per mile
when in attendance upon meetings, and the said Board
shall hold meetings, at least once a week and oftener, if
necessary.

The said Board shall have full power and authority to
establish and maintain at Pocomoke City, Snow Hill, Berlin
and Ocean City stores to be known as "Worcester County
Liquor Dispensaries, " for the sale of any sparkling or forti-
fied wine and any other alcoholic beverage containing more
than fourteen per centum of alcohol by volume, in sealed
packages or containers, which packages or containers shall
not be opened nor their contents consumed upon the prem-
ises where sold. For the purpose of establishing and operat-
ing such dispensaries the Board of County Commissioners of
Worcester County is hereby authorized and directed to ad-
vance, from time to time, to the Liquor Control Board, such
sum or sums of money, not exceeding $10, 000. 00, as may be
necessary to provide adequate working capital for said
Liquor Control Board, and the said Board of County Com-
missioners is hereby authorized and empowered to borrow,
upon the credit of said County, such sum or sums as may be
