CHAPTER ill.
AN ACT to add three new sections to Article 21 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland, Flack's Edition of
1930, entitled "Talbot County, " the said new sections to
follow immediately after Section 306 of said Article, to
be placed under the sub-title reading "Liquor and Intoxi-
cating Drinks, " and to be known as Section 307, 308 and
309, authorizing the holding of a referendum in Talbot
County and the various districts of said County with re-
spect to the sale of alcoholic beverages in said county.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That three new sections be, and the same are
hereby added to Article 21 of the Code of Public Laws of
Maryland, Flack's Edition of 1930, entitled "Talbot
County, " sub-title "Liquor and Intoxicating Drinks, " the
said new sections to follow immediately after Section 306,
to be known as Sections 307, 308 and 309, and to read as
follows:
307. Upon the filing in the office of the Board of Super-
visors of Elections for Talbot County, at least thirty days
before the next General Election in this State, of a petition
signed by not less than twenty per centum of the registered
and qualified voters of said county, there shall be submitted
to the legal and qualified voters of said county and of each
of the separate election districts of said county, any or all
of the following questions, to wit: (1) Shall beer be per-
mitted to be sold in the ———— election district of Talbot
County in sealed packages for consumption off the premises
where sold? (2) Shall beer be permitted to be sold in the
———— election district of Talbot County for consumption
on the premises where sold at hotels and restaurants? (3)
Shall beer be permitted to be sold in the ———— election
district of Talbot County for consumption on the premises
where sold at clubs which are not operated for profit? (4)
Shall beer, wine and distilled liquor be permitted to be sold
in the ———— election district of Talbot County, in sealed
packages for consumption off the premises where sold at
hotels, restaurants, drug stores, grocery stores and clubs?
At the said election the vote upon the above questions
shall be by ballot and underneath each of the questions
submitted there shall be printed the words "FOR SUCH
SALE, " and "AGAINST SUCH SALE, " and except as
otherwise provided in this Act, the said election shall be
conducted and the results thereof ascertained in accordance
