3. Shall License Be Issued for the Sale of Beer, Wine and

Distilled Liquor?

The said election shall be conducted and the results
thereof ascertained in accordance with the Constitution
and Laws of the State relating to elections.

525B. If a majority of the votes cast in any election
district on the question as to whether licenses shall be is-
sued for the sale of beer shall be against licensing of same,
then and in that event no license for such sale shall be
issued for any place of business in said district. Provided,
however, that the licenses then in effect for the sale of beer
in said district shall continue and remain in effect until the
expiration thereof on May 1, 1935. If a majority of the
votes cast in any election district on the question as to
whether licenses shall be issued for the sale of beer shall
be in favor of said question, then licenses for the sale of
beer (Classes A, B and C only) shall be issued by the Clerk
of the Court of Frederick County, in accordance with the
provisions of Chapter 2 of the Acts of the Extraordinary
Session of the General Assembly of Maryland of 1933, but
no licenses for the sale of beer shall be issued for any place
of business in any election district of said County in which
a majority of the votes cast in said district on said ques-
tion shall be against licensing the sale of beer.

525C. If a majority of the votes cast in any election
district on questions Numbers 2 and 3, as designated in
Section 525A, shall be in favor of either or both of said
questions, then the Governor shall appoint a License Com-
missioner for Frederick County, who, at the time of his
appointment, shall be a resident and taxpayer of Frederick
County and shall have resided in said County for not less
than five years next preceding his appointment and be not
less than thirty years of age. During his term of office, he
shall not hold any other position of trust or profit under the
laws of the United States or the State of Maryland. He
shall receive an annual salary of One Thousand Dollars
($1, 000. 00), which shall be paid by the County Commis-
sioners of Frederick County, and, in addition to his salary,
the County Commissioners shall provide him with such
sum as may be necessary to cover office and other expenses
not exceeding Four Hundred Dollars ($400. 00) per annum.
