under sub-title "Alcoholic Beverages, " to be known as
Sections 114, 115 and 116 and to follow immediately af-
ter Section 113 of said Article, authorizing the holding
of a referendum in Carroll County and the various dis-
tricts of said county with respect to the sale of alcoholic
beverages in said county.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That three new sections be, and the same are
hereby added to Article 7 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland, (Flack's Edition of 1930), title "Carroll Coun-
ty, " said new sections to be under sub-title "Alcoholic Bev-
erages, " to be known as Sections 114, 115 and 116 and to
follow immediately after Section 113 of said Article and
to read as follows:
114. On the day fixed by law for the holding of the next
general election in November, 1934, there shall be sub-
mitted to the legal and qualified voters of Carroll County,
and of each of the separate Election Districts of said Coun-
ty the question whether licenses for the sale of wine and
distilled liquor in sealed packages or containers for con-
sumption off the premises shall be issued in said county or
any of the said Election Districts. The Supervisors of
Elections shall cause to be printed on the ballots to be used
at said election the caption "Shall Licenses be Issued for
the Sale of Wine and Distilled Liquor" and underneath said
caption on separate lines, with a square or box to the right
and opposite thereof, so that the voters shall be able to
designate by a cross mark in the proper square or box his
or her decision for or against said question, the follow-
ing: "For License to Sell Wine and Distilled Liquors. "
If a majority of the votes cast in any Election District
on said question shall be "For License to Sell Wine and Dis-
tilled Liquor, " then licenses for the sale of wine and dis-
tilled liquor Class A only may be issued in accordance with
the provisions of Chapter 2 of the Acts of the Extraordi-
nary Session of the General Assembly of Maryland of 1933.
If a majority of the votes cast in any Election District shall
be "Against License to Sell Wine and Distilled Liquor, "
then no application shall be approved by the County Con^-
missioners of Carroll County acting as License Commis-
sioners of said County or license for sale of Wine or Dis-
tilled liquor be thereafter issued by the Clerk of the Court
for said County for any place of business in said Election
District.
