CHAPTER 11.
AN ACT to repeal Sections 97-112, both inclusive, or Arti-
cle 23 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition), title "Wicomico County, " sub-title "Jus-
tices of the Peace and Constables, " and to enact nine new
sections in lieu thereof, said new sections to be known
as Sections 97 to 105, both inclusive, and to follow imme-
diately after Section 96 of said Article, providing for the
appointment of a Justice of the Peace at large, in and
for Wicomico County, to be known as the "Judge of the
People's Court, " for the appointment by the County Com-
missioners of Wicomico County of a Clerk to said Judge
of the People's Court, for the payment of a salary^to
said Judge of the People's Court, in lieu of all fees, for
the payment of a salary to said Clerk, and providing
for the annual appropriation by the County Commis-
sioners of Wicomico County and the Mayor and Council
of Salisbury, in their respective annual levies for the pay-
ment of the salary of said Judge and for an annual ap-
propriation by the County Commissioners of Wicomico
County for the payment of the salary of said Clerk.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Sections 97-112, both inclusive, of Article
23 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930
Edition), title "Wicomico County, " sub-title "Justices of
the Peace and Constables, " be and the same are hereby re-
pealed, and that nine new sections be and they are hereby
enacted in lieu thereof, said new sections to be known as
Sections 97 to 105, both inclusive, to follow immediately
after Section 96 of said Article, and to read as follows:
97. In addition to the Justices of the Peace for
Wicomico County now provided by law, there shall be bi-
ennially appointed by the Governor, one other Justice of the
Peace at large, in and for Wicomico County, the said
Justice of the Peace so appointed to be known as the "Judge
of the People's Court. " The Justice first appointed under
this section shall be appointed on or before May 1, 1936,
and shall hold office until the first Monday in May, 1937,
and the Justices thereafter appointed shall hold office for a
period of two years, or until their successors are duly ap--
pointed and qualified.
98. The said "Judge of the People's Court" shall re-
ceive an annual salary of Twenty-four Hundred Dollars
