up, if one be provided, or in the county jail, and the sheriff
or Chief of Police of Prince George's, County shall receive
and confine any person so committed.

Any Justices of the Peace for Prince George's County
resident in the town or in the Riverdale 19th District are
hereby declared conservators of the peace of the town and
it shall be their duty to order the arrest of any person
found by them Breaking the peace or disturbing the quiet
or order of the town, or violating any of the ordinances
made by the Mayor and Common Council for securing the
safety or property or the lives of the inhabitants of the
town, and upon complaint made to them of the violation of
any ordinance of the town shall issue process in the name
of the Mayor and Common Council of University Park
to recover the fine or penalty imposed for the violation of
such ordinance against the party offending, and may here-
in determine the matter as in any case arising under the
laws of the State, and shall receive the same fees therefor.
The taxable costs of the Justices of the Peace shall be paid
by the Mayor and Common Council. All writs or summons
issued by said Justices of the Peace shall be served by a
Constable for the Riverdale 19th District or by any Con-
stable-at-large for Prince George's County.

SEC. 16. And be it further enacted, That the Council
shall have the same power as the State Board of Health,
within the corporate limits of the said town. They may
adopt and provide an efficient system of drainage. They
may adopt suitable measures for the removal of garbage
and trash, and fix the amount to be paid therefor.

SEC. 17. And be it further enacted, That those parts of
the several county roads within the limits of said town,
and all roads, streets, avenues, or alleys, which now are or
shall hereafter be shown, or any plat or addition to the
platted part of said town, as public highways, and ac-
cepted by the Mayor and Common Council as such, are
hereby made and declared to be public streets, avenues and
alleys of said town, and shall be from time to time improved
and repaired as the public interest may require and the
resources of the town justify.

SEC. 18 And be it further enacted, That the County
Commissioners of Prince George's County and Board of
Road Commissioners of said county shall pay annually to
the Mayor and Common Council of University Park, or
