and Common Council, acting as impeachment officers; pro-
vided, however, that the said elective officer shall have at
least 10 days' notice of said hearing, and for good cause
shown may be granted further time within which to ap-
pear. It is further provided that the Mayor and Com-
mon Council shall act as judge in all impeachment pro-
ceedings brought against the hereinbefore mentioned elec-
tive officer of the Town of University Park, and that a
majority of the Mayor and members of the Common Coun-
cil shall constitute a quorum for the purpose of the im-
peachment proceedings herein provided; provided, that in
order to convict an elective officer of the charges preferred
a unanimous verdict must be entered upon the record of the
hearing. It is further provided that the Mayor shall have
the same vote as any Councilman when acting as one of
the judges of an impeachment proceeding; provided, how-
ever, that any elective officer against whom impeachment
proceedings have been instituted, and notice of which has
been given to him, shall be from the date of such notice
suspended from office and shall not be reinstated unless
such impeachment proceedings are abandoned or he has
been acquitted of such charges, and provided further, how-
ever, that unless the proceedings are heard within 30 days
from the date the elective officer is notified by the Mayor
and Common Council, unless for good cause shown same is
extended, and in no event shall same be extended more than
90 days, from the date of said notice, of the charges pre-
ferred against him, the proceedings shall be considered
abandoned and the said elective officer shall thereafter dur-
ing the remainder of his term of office be entitled to hold
same and exercise all rights and privileges thereunder;
and the decision of the Mayor and Common Council acting
as impeachment judges shall be final and conclusive on all
parties. The Corporation Counsel for the town of Univer-
sity Park shall act as the prosecuting officer.

SEC. 13. That any party desiring to run for said Mayor,
Treasurer, or Councilman of said town shall be at least 25
years of age, and shall have resided within the corporate
limits of said town at least two years prior to election, and
each of whom shall be assessed either individually or jointly
on the books of said town for at least $4000. 00 and an^
person desiring to run for said Mayor and Treasurer of
said town shall file with the Board of Election Supervisors
of said town, as provided for in Section 8 of this Act, a
petition containing the names of at least 20 persons, voters
