amended by Chapter 285 of the Acts of 1933; and to
repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 270 of
said Article, sub-title "Revenue and Taxes, " as said
section was amended by Chapter 284 of the Acts of 1933;
increasing the compensation of the clerk to the County
Commissioners and the deputy treasurer and clerk to the
Treasurer of Worcester County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 57 of Article 24 of the Code of Pub-
lic Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Worcester
County, " sub-title "County Commissioners, " as said section
was amended by Chapter 285 of the Acts of 1933; and
Section 270 of said Article, sub-title "Revenue and Taxes, "
as said section was amended by Chapter 284 of the Acts of
1933; be and they are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:

57. At the General Election to be held on the first
Tuesday after the first Monday in November, 1934, and
every fourth year thereafter, there shall be elected three
County Commissioners who shall be qualified voters of said
County and shall have resided at least two years in said
Worcester County immediately preceding their election,
and shall have been owners of and assessed with real estate
in said County for at least one year preceding their said
election; and for the purpose of selecting persons eligible
as said County Commissioners, the County shall be con-
sidered as divided into three Commissioners' Districts, one
of which shall consist of Pocomoke Election District and
Atkinsons' Election District; one of Snow Hill District,
Stockton District, Colbourne's District and Newark District,
and one of East Berlin District, West Berlin District and
St. Martin's District, the same being what were formerly
known as the three collection districts of said Worcester
County; and one of said County Commissioners shall be
a resident of each of said three Commissioner Districts,
so that the Board of County Commissioners shall be com-
posed always of a representative from each of said three
Commissioner Districts; and the salary of each of said
Commissioners shall be seven hundred and twenty dollars
per year, payable monthly by Worcester County, and the
said Commissioners are hereby authorized and empow-
ered to employ a clerk to keep up to date the assessment
records and other records of their office, the cost of such
clerk not to exceed the sum of twelve hundred dol-
