AND WHEREAS, doubts have arisen as to the power of
the State Board of Forestry and the State Forester to bind
the State of Maryland by such agreement without an Act
of the Legislature authorizing and empowering him so to
do; and it appearing to the General Assembly that the
passage of an Act of the Assembly is necessary to validate,
ratify and confirm the act of the State Board of Forestry
and the State Forester on behalf of the State of Maryland
in order that the intentions of the parties in said grant
and acceptance of lands may be effectuated, and the honor
and good faith of the State maintained; now therefore

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the act of the State Board of Forestry and
the State Forester on behalf of the State of Maryland in
making the agreement of January 22, 1931 with the
Manor Mining and Manufacturing Company, its suc-
cessors and assigns, be and the same is hereby validated,
ratified and confirmed, and that said agreement shall to all
intents and purposes be as valid and effectual as if the said
F. W. Besley, State Forester, had been specially authorized
and empowered by Act of the General Assembly of Mary-
land, on behalf of the State of Maryland, to make and en-
ter into the same prior to the execution thereof.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect on June 1, 1936.

CHAPTER 73.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
5 of Article 72 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1935
Supplement), title "Oysters, " sub-title "Tonging, " relat-
ing to the time within which tonger's license may be
secured.

CHAPTER 74.

AN ACT to authorize the County Commissioners of Anne
Arundel County to take over and maintain the Joyce
Road from the home of Dr. Joyce to the Eugene Laz-
enby's entrance.
