CHAPTER 68.

AN ACT to repeal Sections 169, 170, 171, 172, 17, 3 and 174
of Article 2 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land (1930 Edition), title "Anne Arundel County, " sub-
title "Brooklyn, " and to enact in lieu thereof five new
sections, to be under sub-title "Police, " said new sec-
tions to be known as Sections 169, 170, 171, 172 and 173
of said Article, relating to the appointment and retire-
ment of police officers of Anne Arundel County.

CHAPTER 69.

AN ACT to extend the limits of the Town of Riverdale a
municipal corporation by diminishing the limits of the
Town of Hyattsville, a municipal corporation contiguous
thereto.

CHAPTER 70.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
555 of Article 17 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Prince George's County, "
subtitle "Hyattsville, " sub-heading "Contracts, " as said
section was amended by Chapter 280 of the Acts of 1935,
authorizing the town of Hyattsville to do road mainte-
nance work and make repairs without contracts by using
regular town employees or equipment.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 555 of Article 17 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Prince George's County, " sub-title "Hyattsville, " sub-
heading "Contracts, " as said section was amended by
Chapter 280 of the Acts of 1935, be and it is hereby re-
pealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

555. In all cases where any municipal work is to
be done within the corporate limits of Hyattsville,
the estimated cost of which shall exceed five hun-
dred dollars, the Common Council shall invite proposals
for said work by advertisement for two weeks in some
