HARRY W. NICE, GOVERNOR. 107

Article, providing that any release or power of attorney
or contract of employment of an attorney at law with
reference to the recovery of damages for injuries result-
ing from a tort signed by an injured person within two
days of the injury, shall be voidable, under certain con-
ditions, at the option of such injured party.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That a new section be and it is hereby added to
Article 79 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1924 Edi-
tion), title "Releases and Receipts, " said new section to^be
known as Section 11, to follow immediately after Section
10 of said Article, and to read as follows:

11. In any and all cases in which any person sustains
personal injuries as a result of a tort alleged to have been
committed against such person, any release of the claim of
such injured person for damages resulting from such tort,
signed by such injured person within two days of the in-
fliction of said injuries, and any power of attorney to or
contract of employment of an attorney at law, with refer-
ence to recovery of damages for such tort, signed by such
party within two days after the infliction of such injuries,
shall be voidable within sixty days at the option of such
injured party.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1936.

CHAPTER 39.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section
348C of Article 43 of the Annotated Code of Maryland,
1935 Supplement, title "Health, " sub-title "Water, Ice
and Sewerage, " so as to provide that bonds may be is-
sued in an amount not to exceed five (5%) per cent of
the aggregate assessed valuation of all property listed
and assessed for taxation in a municipality for the pur-
pose of providing funds for the design, construction,
establishment, extension, alteration, purchase or con-
demnation of water supply, sewerage, drainage or refuse
