INTRODUCTION OF BILLS
Senate Bill No. 1—By the President:
A Bill entitled "An Act to authorize the creation of a State debt
in the aggregate amount of Fifty Million Dollars ($50,000,000.00),
the proceeds thereof to be used to supplement the financing of the
construction of public school buildings and public school facilities
by each of the Counties of this State and by the Mayor and City
Council of Baltimore; the acquisition of such real estate or in-
terest in lands as may be necessary in connection therewith by
each of the Counties of this State and by the Mayor and City
Council of Baltimore; providing generally for the issuance and
sale of certificates of indebtedness evidencing such loan; providing
for the method by which the financial assistance for the construc-
tion of public school buildings and public school facilities and the
purchase of public school lands is to be afforded to each of the
Counties of this State and to the Mayor and City Council of Balti-
more; making an emergency appropriation from the general sur-
plus of the State Treasury for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1950,
in the amount of Four Million Dollars ($4,000,000) to be used
for the purposes for which said debt is created, pending settlement
for and receipt of the proceeds of the issuance and sale of the first
group of certificates evidencing said State debt; providing for the
repayment of said appropriation; and providing for the levy of
taxes to pay the interest on and principal of said State debt.

A Bill entitled "An Act making an emergency appropriation for
the payment of the expenses of the General Asembly of Maryland
for the Extraodinary Session of 1949."

Senate Bill No. 3—By the President:
A Bill entitled "An Act to repeal Sections 306 and 307 of Arti-
cle 27 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title
'Crimes and Punishments', sub-title 'Gaming', and to enact two
new sections, in lieu thereof, to stand in the place of said sections
so repealed, relating to the issuance of search warrants."
