By Senator Sothoron:

Resolved, That the following shall be desk officers for the Extra-
ordinary Session of December 17, 1949:

C. Andrew Shaab (Howard County) to be Secretary of the Senate.

Walter D. Addison (Prince George's County) to be Journal Clerk
of the Senate.

Joseph Newman (Baltimore City) to be Beading Clerk of the
Senate.

James T. Knotts (Queen Anne's County) to be Sergeant-at-Arms.

Albin Owings (Baltimore City) to be Chief Page.

J. Frank Lupo (Baltimore County) to be Assistant Journal Clerk.

Alfred C. Quimby (Talbot County) to be Assistant Secretary of
the Senate.

Which was so ordered by yeas and nays as follows:

Ordered, That the rules adopted by the Senate of Maryland at
the regular session of 1949 be hereby adopted as the rules governing
the Senate of Maryland during the present session of 1949 until
otherwise ordered.

Which was read and adopted.

By Senator Sothoron:

Ordered, That the Senate of Maryland Committees appointed by
the President of the Senate during the regular sesion of 1949 be
and they are hereby continued to serve during the special session
of 1949; and be it further ordered, that the President is hereby
authorized and empowered to fill any vacancy or vacancies that may
exist in said committees by reason of death, resignation or any
other manner.
