by the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore under the authority
of this Act, the State Comptroller shall collect and pay over the
same to the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore."

Senate Bill No. 10—By Senator Parran:

A Bill entitled "An Act to add a new section to Article 81 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1943 Supplement), title 'Revenue and
Taxes', sub-title 'State Tax Commission', said new section to be
known as Section 175A and to follow immediately after Section
175 of said Article, relating to the taxation in Calvert County of
increased valuations of properties reviewed and reassessed after
June 1, 1943, under the provi-sions of Section 175 (8) of said Arti-
cle 81."

INTRODUCTION OF RESOLUTION.

SENATE RESOLUTION.
By Senator Della:

A Resolution requesting the President of the United States to direct
that all available ships be used for the return of servicemen
to the United States.

WHEREAS, it is reported that there are several hundred vessels in
the several harbors if the United States which are idle and could
be used for the return of service men to their homes; and

WHEREAS, some of these ships may need to be re-converted in order
to make them available for this purpose but this should be done
in order to permit the return of our service men as promptly
as possible; now, therefore, be it

Resolved by the Senate of Maryland, That the President of the
United States be and he is hereby requested to take whatever action
may be necessary to see that all available ships are used for the
return of the service men to their homes and to see that other
ships are converted in order to make them available for this pur-
pose ; and be it further

Resolved, That this Resolution be spread upon the Journal of
the Senate and that the Secretary of the Senate be and he is hereby
directed to send a copy to the President of the United States and
