for filling vacancies due to other causes. The Commissioners
shall serve without pay and shall at their first meeting after
election elect one of their number to be chairman of the Board
of Commissioners. They shall pass rules and by-laws for their
own government while in session.
SEC. 7. And be it further enacted, That the Commissioners
shall meet in some convenient place in said town on the second
Tuesday in August succeeding their election, and from time to
time thereafter as occasion may require, or upon the call of the
chairman; not less, however, than once in every month.
SEC. 8. And be it further enacted, That the said Commis-
sioners, shall annually appoint a Treasurer who shall also act
as clerk for said Commissioners, and who in addition to his or
her duties as Treasurer shall keep the minutes of their pro-
ceedings in a well-bound book, which shall be open to the inspec-
tion of all bona fide residents of said town, and said clerk shall
perform such other duties as the Commissioners may assign
to him or her.
SEC. 9. And be it further enacted, That the Commissioners
shall annually appoint one or more bailiffs for said town, who
are hereby declared to have and are vested with all the powers
of a constable of Prince George's County within the said town
limits, and who shall perform such duties as may be required
of them by the said Commissioners, and who shall preserve the
peace and good order in said town.
SEC. 10. And be it further enacted, That the Commission-
ers shall establish a reasonable salary or compensation for the
Treasurer, as well as for other officers or employees of said
town. All appointees of the Board of Commissioners shall hold
their offices or positions at the pleasure of said Commissioners.
The Commissioners may appoint the same person to perform
the duties of more than one office.
SEC. 11. And be it further enacted, That before any elec-
tive or appointive officer of the said town of Fairmount Heights
shall enter upon his or her duties he or she shall make oath
before some officer authorized to administer oaths in said
Prince George's County that he or she will diligently and faith-
fully discharge the duties of his or her office and he or she
