CHAPTER 298.
AN ACT to add four new sections to Article 16 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Montgomery Coun-
ty, " sub-title "Circuit Court, " as the same was legalized by
Chapter 790 of the Acts of 1912, said new sections to be
known as Sections 105A, 105B, 105C and 105D, and to
follow immediately after Section 105 of said Article, pro-
viding for a Clerk to the Grand Juries of said County, de-
fining his duties and imposing a penalty for the violation
thereof.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That four new sections be and they are hereby
added to Article 16 of the Public Local Laws of Maryland,
title "Montgomery County, " sub-title "Circuit Court, " as the
same was legalized by Chapter 790 of the Acts of 1912, said
new sections to be known as Sections 105A, 105B, 105C and
105D, to follow immediately after Section 105 of said Ar-
ticle, and to read as follows:
105A. Upon the organization of each Grand Jury the
Judge or Judges of the Circuit Court for Montgomery County
may and they are hereby authorized and empowered to ap-
point a Clerk who shall be a competent stenographer, at a com-
pensation to be determined from time to time by the Judge
or Judges of the Circuit Court for Montgomery County mak-
ing said appointment, to be paid by the County Commission-
ers for Montgomery County, which said Clerk shall have au-
thority to take and transcribe the testimony given before any
Grand Jury in said Montgomery County, and, whenever re-
quired by the State's Attorney, shall attend upon and take
and transcribe the testimony given at the coroner's inquest,
and all of said testimony so taken and transcribed shall be
for the exclusive use and benefit of the Grand Jury and the
State's Attorney of said County, unless otherwise ordered by
the Court.
105B. Any Clerk appointed under the provisions of the
preceding section shall, before he enters upon the duties of
his office, take and subscribe before the Clerk of the Circuit
Court for Montgomery County an oath that he will keep secret
all matters and things occurring before such Grand Jury.
