the duties and obligations of justice of the peace within the
territorial limits of the said town, as such duties are defined
in this Act and other statutes of this State, which bond, if
required by the Mayor and Council as aforesaid, shall be
filed with the clerk of the said town. If such bond is required
by the Mayor and Council, the said justice of the peace shall
furnish said bond before he acts as such.

The said justice of the peace shall, on the first day of
every month following his appointment, account for and pay
over to the County Commissioners of Montgomery and Prince
George's Counties, respectively, all fines, penalties, forfeitures
and costs imposed by him, which he shall receive for, or on ac-
count of, criminal offenses tried before him in those respective
counties under the provisions of the public general laws and
the public local laws, except for violation of the ordinances of
the said town which fines, penalties, forfeitures and costs shall
be paid to the Town of Takoma Park.

The said justice of the peace shall collect the fees now al-
lowed by law in Montgomery and Prince George's Counties
to other justices of the peace in those counties respectively for
issuing any warrant of arrest or summons for witnesses or for
hearings, trial judgment and commitment and shall also col-
lect the same fees as other justices of the peace in the said
counties are respectively allowed in civil actions. On the first
day of each month following his appointment, he shall act for
and pay over to the said county commissioners of each county
respectively, all such fees so collected by him on account of
civil or criminal actions arising in each county. The said
justice of the peace shall be paid a salary of $1, 200. per annum,
which shall include all expenses in connection with the duties
of his office and the maintenance thereof and he shall receive
no other fees or compensation of any other kind, nature or
description in connection with his office. One-half of his sal-
ary shall be paid by the Town of Takoma Park, Maryland,
from its general revenues and the remaining one-half shall be
paid by the County Commissioners of Montgomery County;
and the said County Commissioners of Montgomery County
are hereby authorized, empowered and directed to include in
their next annual levy on all the assessable property in Mont-
gomery County, and each succeeding levy, an amount neces-
sary to pay the said portion of the salary of the said Justice
so to be paid by the County Commissioners of Montgomery
County.
