sponsible for all contracts made in the prosecution of such busi-
ness under such license and shall b© liable to be sued therefor in
any of the courts of this State; and the said feme covert may
be sued or indicted and prosecuted in case of a violation by her
of the license law of this State, or in case she should keep a
disorderly house, as if she were a feme sole; and if judgment
be obtained against her on any contract, execution shall or may
issue in the ordinary way to affect her separate estate; pro-
vided, however, that such responsibility shall in no manner
affect or impair the responsibility of the parent of such infant
under existing laws.

CHAPTER 37.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section
745E of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1927
Edition), title "Baltimore City, " sub-title "Police Com-
missioner, " relating to seniority rating on account of mil-
itary service during the World War.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland,
That Section 745E of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1927 Edition), title "Baltimore City, "
sub-title "Police Commissioner, " be and the same is hereby
repealed and re-enacted with amendments, to read as follows:

745E. The time spent by any member of the Police Force
in military service during the World War shall be construed
as having been spent on said Police Force for the purpose of
determining seniority rating. The provisions of this section
shall only apply to those who were members of the said Police
Force when war was declared with Germany, and who subse-
quently served and again became members of said Police
Force.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1929.
