and, in addition thereto, a sum not exceeding three hundred
dollars annually, to cover all actual and necessary expenses
incurred by him in discharge of his official duties hereunder;
and the said County Road Engineer shall hold office for two
years from the first Tuesday of June, 1929, unless sooner
removed for cause or by the County Commissioners as herein-
after provided; and the County Commissioners shall make
such appointments without any reference whatever to the polit-
ical opinions of the person so appointed.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1st, 1929.

CHAPTER 4.
AN ACT to authorize and empower and direct the municipal
corporation, the Commissioners of Church Hill, to use the
proceeds of the sale of the electric lines and poles, run-
ning from Centreville to Church Hill, and all other electric
equipment which belongs to said municipal corporation when
and if same is sold.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the municipal corporation, the 'Commissioners
of Church Hill, be and it is hereby authorized, and em-
powered and directed, when the said municipal corporation,
the Commissioners of Church Hill, shall sell the electric lines
and poles running from Centreville to Church Hill and all
other electric equipment owned by it, to use the proceeds
arising from said sale in paying, first, all indebtedness due
by said municipal corporation, the Commissioners of Church
Hill, and the balance, if any, to be used by the Commissioners
of Church Hill in making any public improvement which in its
judgment is needed and is for the benefit of said municipal
corporation.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1929,
