rate powers of the constituent consolidating corporations, but
it. shall not be required by law that any minister be one of
said trustees.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That all the powers and
rights of the said former corporations, and all the property
and assets belonging to the former separate corporations, and
all of their debts and liabilities shall be devolved upon said
new consolidated corporation except as modified by this Act,
and every grant, devise or bequest in favor either of the
former separate corporations which it would have been capa-
ble of taking shall be devolved upon said consolidated corpo-
ration, which shall be regarded as substituted by operation of
law in the place and stead of said former separate corpora-
tions; and all limitations upon the possession of property and
income therefrom, contained in the charters of either of the
constituent consolidating corporations, are hereby repealed and
annulled.
SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect the first day of June, 1929.

CHAPTER 254.
AN ACT to add a new section to Article 56 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1924 Edition), title "Licenses, " sub-
title "Motor Vehicles, " said new section to be known as Sec-
tion 190A and to follow immediately after Section 190 of
said Article, providing that the use of any public highway
in the State of Maryland by a non-resident owner or oper-
ator of a motor vehicle shall be deemed as an appointment
of the Secretary of State of Maryland by such non-resident
as his attorney upon whom may be served all lawful process
in any action arising out of any accident in which such non-
resident may be involved while operating a motor vehicle on
the public, highways of this State.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That a new section be and it is hereby added to
Article 56 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1924 Edi-
