SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1929.

CHAPTER 242.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 2
and 3 of Chapter 560 of the Acts of 1920, enlarging and
extending the powers of the Port Development Commission
created by virtue of the authority conferred by said Act,
and enlarging and extending the purpose for which the pro-
ceeds of the loan authorized in said Chapter 560 of the
Acts of 1920 may be expended; and to authorize and em-
power the Port Development Commission to study and re-
port upon the commerce of the Port of Baltimore and to
petition or intervene and participate in behalf of the Mayor
and City Council of Baltimore in any proceedings affect-
ing the commerce of the Port of Baltimore; and to au-
thorize the submission of an ordinance for these purposes
to the legal voters of Baltimore City.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland,
That Sections 2 and 3 of Chapter 560 of the Acts
of the General Assembly of Maryland for the year 1920 lie
and the same are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, to read as follows:

2. That the proceeds of the stock hereby authorized to be
issued shall be applicable to and used for the purpose of devel-
oping, extending and improving the harbor of Baltimore and
its facilities, the purchase of such lands and other property,
the construction and establishment of such extensions, altera-
tions, or changes in the wharves, clocks and piers of the
City of Baltimore, and the construction and establishment
of new wharves, docks, piers and such warehouses, sheds,
structures and buildings as may be deemed proper or de-
sirable in connection with the objects and purposes of this
Act in such manner and under such conditions as may be pro-
vided by ordinance of the Mayor and City Council of Balti-
more, subject to the conditions of this Act.
