the interest and the principal shall be due and payable, and
where payable.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That nothing in this
Act shall be taken to affect any assessment or tax levied by
authority of any law hereby repealed, which. assessment or
tax is uncollected at the time this Act takes effect, but such
assessment or tax shall bo and remain a lien and collectible
as heretofore provided by any law repealed by this Act.
SEC. 3, And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from and after the 1st clay of June, 1929.

CHAPTER 239.
AN ACT to authorize The Commissioners of Aberdeen to issue
bonds to an amount not to exceed Thirty-five Thousand Dol-
lars ($35, 000) and to sell the same for the construction of a
town building in which to house the fire and police depart-
ments, the offices of the Treasurer and Commissioners, for
general municipal uses and for public meetings; and to ac-
quire a suitable site for said building within the limits of
the Town of Aberdeen; and to levy a tax not exceeding
twenty-five cents (25c) on the $100 worth of assessable prop-
erty in addition to the rate of tax heretofore authorized; and
to provide for the submission of the provisions of this Act to
the legally qualified voters of the Town of Aberdeen for
their adoption or rejection.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Commissioners of Aberdeen be and they
are hereby authorized in their discretion, the assent, of the ma-
jority of the legal voters of said town voting at any election as
hereinafter provided, having been first had and obtained, to
borrow money upon the faith and credit of said town, and to
issue bonds therefor not to exceed the sum. of Thirty-five Thou-
sand Dollars ($35, 000), said bonds to be exempt from county
and municipal taxation.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That before the said
Commissioners of Aberdeen shall issue any bonds as herein
