WHEREAS, In parts of the said City of Cambridge, there
are no sewers, and it has become necessary that sewers be
placed therein; and
WHEREAS, A number of the streets of Cambridge should
be curbed, and otherwise permanently improved; and
WHEREAS, The Commissioners of Cambridge have deter-
mined that the health, safety and welfare of the people re-
quire the construction of the said park, and of the said sewers
and of the permanent improvement of the said streets; and
WHEREAS, It is desirable that all of the said things herein-
before recited, should be done, all of which are urgently needed
and are permanent in nature, and should be paid for over an
extended period of time; and
WHEREAS, The Commissioners of Cambridge have deemed
it desirable to open certain new streets in the neighborhood
of Cambridge Creek, and have acquired land for said pur-
pose, and have erected bulkheads along the water front, in
the neighborhood of the said proposed streets, and of already
existing streets, which bulkheading has been done, and the
land behind the bulkheads has been filled in, but for which the
City of Cambridge has not had sufficient money to pay for,
and there is due and owing, certain sums of money for the
said work; and
WHEREAS, The said The Commissioners of Cambridge, by
resolution passed at their regular meeting on the 5th day of
February, 1929, resolved that the General Assembly of Mary-
land, at its 1929 session, be requested to pass; an Act author-
izing, empowering and directing the Commissioners of Cam-
bridge, to borrow money on the credit of the said municipal
corporation to the amount of Seventy-five Thousand Dollars
($75, 000. 00), with which to provide for the making of the said
park, the placing of the said sewers, and the permanent im-
provement of the streets, and paying for bulkheading and filling
in, that has been done, within the corporate limits of the said
municipal corporation, therefore:
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Commissioners of Cambridge, a municipal
corporation in Dorchester County, is hereby authorized and
