principal amount of Seventy-five Thousand Dollars ($75, -
000. 00); and to levy and collect annual taxes upon all the
assessable property of said municipal corporation to pay the
principal and interest upon said bonds when due; and to
use the proceeds of sale of said bonds to pay for certain
permanent municipal improvements now, or hereafter to
be made; and to authorize the acquiring of the necessary
property, real and personal, within the corporate limits of
the City of Cambridge, for the making of the said perma-
nent municipal improvements, and ratifying and confirming
the acts of the Commissioners of Cambridge in heretofore
acquiring certain real estate within the said corporate limits
for the making of the said improvements.

WHEREAS, The Commissioners of Cambridge, a municipal
corporation in Dorchester County, Maryland, has acquired
land and it is necessary to acquire more land for the pur-
pose of making a public park within the corporate limits of
the City of Cambridge, in Dorchester County; and

WHEREAS, The said land that has been acquired and land nec-
essary yet to be acquired, all within the corporate limits of the
City of Cambridge, is situated along and on the south side
of the Great Choptank River, and bounded on the north by
the said river and on the east by High Street and the land
of the Pennsylvania Railroad Company, and on the south by
Water Street, and on the west by Mill Street and the pier
of what is commonly known as Winterbottom's Wharf, part
of the lands within said bounded area having been purchased
by the Commissioners of Cambridge, subject to the ratifica-
tion and confirmation by the General Assembly, since its last,
session, and the balance of the land within said area being
necessary to be acquired by the Commissioners of Cambridge,
in order that a public park may be made, which will be
bounded by the aforesaid limits, the making of the said park,
requiring that a lot of land now the bottom of the said river,
shall be filled in and made firm land; and

WHEREAS, The said park to be located within the said
limits, is in about the center of the river shore front of the
City of Cambridge, and the making of the public park in
this place will promote the health, comfort and general welfare
of the people of Cambridge; and
