SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect October 1, 1929.

CHAPTER 193.
AN ACT legalizing the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland,
edited by Horace E. Flack, and making it evidence of the law.
WHEREAS, a new edition of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland has been prepared by Horace E. Flack, in pursuance
of Chapter 311 of the Acts of 1927; therefore
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, edited
by Horace E. Flack, be and the saline is hereby legalized and
shall be deemed and taken in all the Courts of the State, and
by all Justices of the Peace of the State, and by all other public
officials therein, to be evidence of the Public Local Laws of the
State contained in the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
of 1888 and the Public Local Laws enacted subsequent thereto;
provided that before the said Code is published, the Public
Local Laws enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland at its
session of 1929 shall be incorporated therein.

CHAPTER 194.
AN ACT to add a new section to Article 35 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1924 Edition), title "Evidence, " sub-title
"Competency of Witness, " said new section to be known as
Section 4A and to follow immediately after Section 4 of said
Article, to provide against the admission of certain evidence
in the trial of misdemeanors.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and the same is hereby added to
Article 35 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1924 Edition),
